About
Land For All is a website that aims to bring together groups of individuals and families to buy or rent land for recreational purposes. It is a low cost way of securing your own field or wood or both, so even those “in populous city pent” can create access to some green stuff.
Access to land is a fundamental human need, whether that land is used for camping trips, growing fruit and vegetables, climbing trees, conservation projects or for solitary meditation. The land supplies us with food and fuel, and it gives us an ever-changing playground. It connects us with nature.
The idea of Land For All is that everyone will have access to a sort of allotment crossed with a dacha, your own philosophical grove, a garden. We do not seek planning permission to build on the land. The land will be used for camping trips, walks, parties, food production. You could keep bees on it, keep pigs on it, climb trees in it. It will be a low cost place of retreat for city-dwellers.
A group of three families, for example, might come together to buy an acre of land. Recreational land without planning permission can cost from £3,000 an acre, or less. So you would pay £1,000 per family for access to an acre of land for perpetuity.
On a higher price scale, a London family recently bought a 14 acre wood for £110,000 for parties, camping trips and fuel. Land is a safer haven for savings than banks, pension funds or building societies. It is useful and beautiful.
On this site you can post messages to connect with other landseekers. The forum is for individuals and groups and not for commercial organizations. We have given links to a couple of woodland and land agents below.
